Years 7 to 10 mathematics
The junior years are where the gaps that hurt in Year 11 are made. Classes work at the Stage 5.3 pathway, which is the one that feeds Advanced and Extension.

What the course covers
Number and algebra, including indices, surds and algebraic techniques
Equations, linear and non-linear relationships
Measurement and space, including Pythagoras and trigonometry
Statistics and probability
Working with the school assessment task that is next, not a parallel course
How the week works
Classes run in small groups at the Epping rooms, with the tutor reading the working as it happens.
Homework each week comes out of what the lesson showed, so it targets the thing that went wrong.

- What is Stage 5.3?
- Years 7 to 10 have no Advanced or Standard split. Stage 5.3 is the most demanding of the three Year 9 and 10 pathways and it is the one Advanced and Extension are built on. Classes are pitched there.
- My child is in the 5.2 class at school. Is this too hard?
- Tell us at the trial. The tutor pitches the work at what the student can do now and says honestly whether the 5.3 pathway is realistic for them.
- What happens in the free trial?
- Your child sits a real class with the group they would join. The tutor works through their current school task, watches the working, and tells you afterwards what they saw.
- How much does it cost?
- Fees are set by year group and are listed on this page. There is no enrolment fee and no lock-in term.
