Refund Policy

Our approach: We try to handle changes fairly while keeping class planning workable for students, tutors, and families.

Diagnostic and Trial Lessons

Diagnostic or trial lessons are free unless we have clearly agreed otherwise with you before the lesson. If you do not continue after a free diagnostic or trial, there is no trial fee to refund.

Refund Eligibility

Situation Refund or Credit
Withdrawal with 2+ weeks' written notice Unused prepaid fees after the notice period may be refunded or credited
Withdrawal with 1-2 weeks' written notice Partial refund or credit may be available for unused lessons
Withdrawal with less than 1 week's notice Refunds are not usually available
BEAM Academy cancels a class Make-up lesson, credit, or refund for that lesson
Student absence with 24+ hours' notice Make-up lesson or credit, subject to availability and the per-term cap below
Student absence with less than 24 hours' notice Make-up lessons and refunds are not usually available

Per-Term Refund Cap

For student-requested missed lessons, schedule changes, or withdrawals, refunds or credits are capped at the value of two regular lessons per student per term. Additional missed lessons in the same term are not usually refundable, though we may still consider a make-up lesson where there is availability.

This cap does not apply where BEAM Academy cancels a class, or where a refund is required by Australian Consumer Law.

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund or discuss your situation:

Approved refunds are usually processed within 5-7 business days and returned to the original payment method where possible.

Make-Up Lessons

Make-up lessons are subject to tutor and class availability. They should usually be used within the same term and cannot be transferred to another student without BEAM Academy approval.

Service Concerns

If you are unhappy with a lesson or program, please contact us as soon as possible. We will review the concern and may offer a replacement lesson, credit, partial refund, or other practical resolution at our discretion.

Exceptional Circumstances

For illness, family emergencies, relocation, or other exceptional circumstances, contact us directly. We will consider each case individually.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time by publishing the revised version on this page.
